Parallel Worlds

On Display at Java Station | Santa Barbara, CA

Parallel Worlds explores the strange intersection of memory, media, fantasy, and cultural mythology through layered collage compositions that blur the line between nostalgia and speculation.

Drawing from vintage advertisements, science fiction, old cinema, found photography, and surreal symbolism, Linda Davis constructs imagined realities where dinosaurs roam beside televisions, astronauts drift through memory, and fragments of the past collide with visions of the future.

Both playful and unsettling, the collection reflects on humanity’s obsession with progress, escape, identity, and reinvention — inviting viewers into alternate worlds that feel oddly familiar.

Parallel Worlds is my way of reimagining reality through fragments of memory, media, fantasy, and culture. By placing unexpected images together, I explore the strange, playful, and deeply human stories hidden beneath the surface of everyday life.
